Rural Exports Trade Desk

Supplier Participation.

01

Buyer requirements

Rural Exports may contact a supplier because a commercial buyer in another market is already looking for what the company produces.

02

Buyer-requested first order

A buyer may express interest in a product but want to see it perform in that market first. Rural Exports coordinates the first commercial order.

03

Information from the first order

The initial order provides operating information: actual freight cost, transit time, documentation, packaging performance, condition on arrival, and the coordination between the parties. Issues identified on the first order can be corrected before repeat business is attempted.

04

What follows

The outcome of the first order determines the next step: repeat orders, corrections before a further order, or a revised plan for the product in that market.

What supplier participation includes

  • Buyer requirements that may fit the supplier's products
  • A first commercial order coordinated into the new market
  • Operating data from a live shipment
  • Access to commercial buyers already active in the supplier's category

Ongoing presence

After the first order, suppliers who want their products to remain available to buyers on Trade Desk pay a presence fee. Presence keeps the product listed, updated, and in front of buyers whose requirements fit it. Presence fees are quoted on admission.

Admission

Application does not mean admission. Rural Exports reviews the company and the products or capabilities put forward before anything is presented to buyers. Admission does not guarantee an introduction, an order, or a sale.
