Co-ops & Producer Organizations

Market access for producer organizations.

Rural Exports works with co-ops, producer organizations, associations, and shared facilities to widen where participating producers can sell: market access, coordinated logistics, and distribution under one organization-level engagement.

Rural Exports producer program structure: one organization-level engagement covering commercial coordination, logistics coordination, and specialist coordination, carrying participating producers through to local and regional, domestic, and international markets.

Exhibit A - Program structure

Rural Exports coordinates three things between a producer organization and its markets: commercial coordination, aligning markets, buyers, and channels with producer capabilities; logistics coordination, moving product through qualified transportation providers; and specialist coordination, bringing in qualified customs, regulatory, technical, and project specialists as needed. One organization-level engagement carries participating producer freight through to local and regional, domestic, and international markets.

The program

What a program covers.

Market access, regional or broader distribution, coordinated logistics, and participating-producer programs, with expansion into additional customer regions and channels as the program develops. Market-entry and supplier-readiness work run at the organization level where the program calls for them.

Program coordination

Analysis and operations.

Analysis

  • Producer requirements
  • Market and buyer fit

The organization is the client

One engagement, at the organization level.

Rural Exports works under one engagement with the organization while coordinating participating producers according to the program structure. Producers participate through the organization rather than contracting separately.

Market access

Reliable logistics changes what a producer organization can sell and where. As the program develops, the same structure can support expansion into additional customer regions and channels.
